Make the most of your hiking experience with the benefits of medicinal cacao.

Cacao is high in antioxidants which may help reduce inflammation in the body. It provides a host of benefits for the heart, brain and mental health.  As a matter of fact, four chemicals are known to be released by the brain when consuming cacao…endorphins, serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin. For this reason, it is not recommended for those on mood regulating medication.

Upon ingesting cacao, one may feel an elevation in mood, an opening of the heart space and mental clarity.

Walking stimulates the vagus nerve which is responsible from bringing information of the inner organs-gut, liver, heart and lungs to the brain. Stimulating this super nerve sends a message to our body that it’s time to relax and destress. This nerve may help to treat depression, reduce blood pressure, lower heartrate and regulate emotions. Regular access to green spaces has been linked to lower risk or depression and improved concentration and attention.

On Friday, we will gather for a brief cacao ceremony designed to stimulate all of the senses before exploring 100 Acre Wood Preserve at 14236 west Cypress Forest Drive in Houston TX 77070. The cost of the event is $15.

The Cacao used in my ceremonies is 100 percent purely processed in a cooperative relationship (fair trade) with the farm and processor.
