WHAT IS IT?

Crafting with Nature is a monthly creative gathering.

Together, we will enjoy a meditative, therapeutic outlet that is a powerful way to practice mindfulness and cultivate social connection. The monthly gathering is designed to reduce stress and anxiety while building a deeper connection to one another.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

A monthly gathering to make things with our hands, slow down our nervous systems and sit in community together. This is for anyone craving slower times, seasonal living and true connection.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT on APRIL 8th?

Our FIRST Crafting with Nature event will focus on creating white sage bundles and learning the sacred art of scent and smoke.

For millennia, cultures have used smoke and scent to clear space, deepen spiritual connection, purify the air and repel insects.

Using plants intentionally can shape the energetic atmosphere of your home, office and gatherings. The relationship between the plants and our space builds connection and grounds us in sight and scent.

Each participant will receive:

  • A small herbal bundle you create
  • A customized loose blend and charcoal disk, again, crafted by YOU!
  • A printed herbal bundle guide
  • Sourcing suggestions
  • A seat at the table among likeminded community
  • Locally Crafted light bites and mocktails

What is the Difference between Smudging and smoke cleansing?

Smudging is the practice of burning sacred herbs for spiritual cleansing. It is a ceremonial practice that has been used by the indigenous people across the Americas. While deeply rooted in tradition, various forms of smoke cleansing and incense burning have existed, globally, for thousands of years. Smoke and scent have long been used in ancient Egypt, Greece, Rome and Europe.

Our indigenous friends in North America have a deep connection to Mother Earth and see each of her plants as gifts- some that are considered sacred- white sage, tobacco and sweetgrass. Each of these sacred three are Native to America. White sage is native to the Southern California and Northern Baja California and Mexico area.

White sage is a powerful plant ally that has been overharvested and is in danger of extinction. White sage is difficult to propagate and does best in arid, coastal sage scrub and desert chaparral habitats. It thrives in dry, sunny areas below 5000 feet in elevation.

Smoke cleansing makes use of

The Printed Herbal bundle guide you will receive at the workshop will provide you with insight of plant energetics and sourcing suggestions. This will provide confidence and understanding of how to handcraft and customize your botanical bundles.
